hi, i am from the uk, just wondering how of you have owned or had a yz60? i have restored one along with a 50, 80 and two 125h (missing the 100!, ran out of room!), but no one here in the uk seems to remember them, or even new yamaha made one. Parts were extremely hard to find but i managed to find a pair of side panels in australia, luckily a friend brought them back for me so it wasnt to bad.

Nice collection you have there 148 ;) I remember the YZ60's and the RM60's well though I never owned either being about 17/18yo when they were released. Have a bit of a collection of mini's myself. Though none are full resto's most are tidy and can be ridden if the need arises. I'm only a small person so riding an 80 poses no problems at all and infact they are more suited to my size than a full size bike ;) cheers Doc

edit: actually my profile picture is of me and my RM80B the day it arrived in late '77 ;)

Thats some great looking bikes #148...very nice!
I had an 80F and an 80H as a kid......reality is i don't think you ever grow out of them and they come back to you.
I have the H and a K in the shed in need of love.....it won't happen today but it will happen ;D

Dude,
You are like my long lost brother ;D ;D ;D.  I have 50H, 60H, 80H, 2 x 125H's, 250H and 465H.  Missing the 100 same as you.
Yours are great examples.  I am doing the 50 up at the moment.  You did well to find side covers as they are like rocking horse poo.  You can still get NOS yellow ones occassionaly, but white ones are super hard to find.

Congratulations on the restos, they are well done.  Gives me something to aim for  8)
Looking for YZ250C parts NOS if possible

The only triple jumps he would have been doing are the hop, skip & jump.

haha! awsome! yes the side were stupidly hard to find, and i havnt seen another pair since, ill keep my eyes peeled though! they arnt in bad condition, but still cost me £120 including a exhaust guard but thats without postage! good job my friend was over at the time , look forward to seeing some pictures of your bikes yz250h ;)
Im not very big either it would be good to see what they all go like, they all run but i could never bring myself to ride them and get them dirty!, they would probably go well, the 60 really screams!
thanks for the kind comments

so what years did Yamaha made the 50's and 60's then? i am guessing the 60's were for 1 or 2 years only (maybe 81/82)

and Doc did Suzuki really make an RM60? any make it to OZ.

Hoony yes the 60's did make downunder but only small numbers as it really was a nothing class of bike. I believe they were basically an overbored 50 introduced along with the 1979 N models. In 1980 the 50 and 60 were available but in '81 with the X models the 50 was dropped in favour of the 60 which looked very much like the N model with the squared off guards and not the more rounded style of the other larger RM's. Pretty sure the '83 D model was the last 60 until more recent times. The 60 made a return in 2003 when there was both the RM60 and RM65 available. I may not be 100% accurate but that's pretty much the story so far as I know ;)
