Hi i have a cr250 and have gear shaft problems the shaft slides when out all gears are there but when slides in looses all gear,any ideas?thanks..

There should be a lug in the sidecover to stop the shaft from sliding in and out.
When it slides in it probably disengages from the selector mechanism.

I have a soft spot japanese mxers with aluminium tanks. Two stroke classic Dirt Track...

still not sure on year model,but thinking late 80"s early 90,takeing frame numbers to honda tuesday,thanks again,

ok pulled side cover of today noticed the lug on casing looks worn but unsure how long it should be its approx 15mm long the kickstarter lug that holds spring in place is 20mm hope someone can help with my dodgey description thanks

i am assuming this bike is Honda CR250 ( not Husky CR250). we can probably identify the model with some key info if you reckon its late 80's

is it have rear disc? (yes = 1987 onwards)
does it have low boy pipe? ( yes = 1988 onwards)
does it have upside down forks? ( yes = 1989 onwards)

can you post any pics or email them?
