Death at Reedy Creek last night

Does any body have any info on the death at Reedy last night??

Age was supposed to be mid fourties. Have done a few vets races down there and know quite a few of the boys.

NEWS  Meanwhile, a 39-year-old man from Pimpama, north of Surfers Paradise, died after crash landing during a jump on a motor cross track at Reedy Creek.
Police said he was riding a motorbike on the track at Old Coach Rd about 7pm.

Way too young -Sympathy to his family and friends.

WTF, it was dark at 6.45 last night. No wonder he crashed.

"INVESTIGATIONS surrounding last night's death of Gold Coast motocross rider Michael Robinson are continuing today to determine whether he died from a heart attack or injuries.

Mr Robinson, of Pimpama, was with his two children at the Gold Coast Motorcross juniors' night at Reedy Creek when a jump turned tragically wrong.

Police said they were investigating whether the man died from his injuries when he hit the ground or if it was due to any medical conditions including a heart attack.

The 39-year-old man came off his motorcycle at Reedy Creek on Old Coach Road about 7pm.

Paramedics tried to resuscitate him but he died at the scene.

Investigations are continuing."

Sad , very sad .  Too bloody young to die at 39 no matter what you are doing.

Very Sad indeed, I think all of us at one time have been in a near death situation just from making a wrong or silly, split second decision. Obvios we were tinny enough to have a near miss instead.

This is aweful of course.

No-one should lose their life ridiing dirt bikes.

But unfortunately, it happens every so often and it's just life....

Godspeed to the rider that has left us....

That's very sad. Especially considering he was out with his sons, not to mention they had to witness it all.

yes, very sad and my sympathies lie with the family trying to come to grips with what's happened. EML shouldn't be overly criticized as he is right and this thought also popped instantly into my mind. At 6.45 it is very dark and unless properly floodlit any track can seemingly change dramatically once darkness sets in. I have to admit my initial thoughts were the same but then I don't know the circumstances so I can't be judgmental of anything. Very very sad and not the sort of news anyone wants to hear ever!

Sorry if I upset somebody but I have no idea about Reedy ck having lights or not so it was the first thought that went through my mind-what was he doing there at that time.
I feel for anyone that looses a family member or friend on a bike and I have lost a few myself over the years.
So, once again, sorry if I offended.
