It's a proper DT1 item Jeff...holy grail stuff to train spotters like Alan and I  ;D

Here's a little inspiration for Steven in the shed.

Number 18 seems to be in a bit of bother in the first turn photo! Would that be Mike Bell on #5? He looks tall enough and his Dad built a pretty good C&J Honda.

Well spotted it is Mike Bell on one of his Dad's XL440's, the track is Carlsbad Carrera 4 Stroke Nationals 1976

It's starting to take shape, I have most parts now & just making bits to put it all together, new cap screws to be plated yet, just made the 6mm alloy engine mounts.

loving the pictures of the two bikes on the trailer.  Those frames are once again readily available, (subject to a deposit and the time reqd to build the frame).  The fastest twinshock 4 stroke in the northern hemisphere is one of these and blasts the opposition into the weeds.  The motor is highly tuned as is the rider.  It eats 490 Maicos for breakfast.....

Looks stunning and sounds incredible which is a great combination!

What year is this please Firko..?

Alison - Champions came pre 70, pre 75 and pre 80, the later ones had the mulit position swing arms and a few little changes, the early ones look a little more like a Dt1/Square barrel maicos, head stem stamps also changed from numbers to letter-numbers.

Probally just as easy to place them by the motor in it, and the swing arm.
