« on: March 21, 2010, 11:54:00 pm »
Just wondering how old does a bike need to be to be called vintage or classic , is there more terms used ?
And
Who sets the standards ?
thanks Matt.

Talk about wandering into a minefield!

Anyhow, there are accepted standards for cars, but bikes are a bit wobblier...

For cars... (and trusting my hurried memory):
Veteran: pre WW1.
Vintage: Pre WW2
Classic: 30 years and older (sometimes 25+ years).

HTH.
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.
