I'm thinking about my next project and just thought I'd put it out there I'm going to do something rideable this time (no garage queen) and something my wife can trail ride when I'm not rideing it I am thinking of doing a yz100 j/k and converting it to a 175 with 43mm forks and a better shock etc.
My questions are
If I race it is there a class it can compeat in
What year 175 cylinder to use,
Do I need to use a 175 rod
Will a 200 cylinder fit
will it200 triple clamps fit
do you need to modify the exaust
or should I just do a IT/PE 175 and save all the problems!

Save yourself the grief and just get an IT175 in fair condition. You could lower the suspension for the wife and have another set of forks and shock for racing in the 250 class (evo possibly).

That would be cheapest and simplest option. ( and with a little bit of work you could have it registered giving you cheap extra transport.

What year 175 cylinder to use Centre port = 1982/83, side port = 80/81.
Do I need to use a 175 rod Ah, brain no worky. Do 100J have the same 50mm bore as the 125/175s?
Will a 200 cylinder fit No.
will it200 triple clamps fit Yes.
do you need to modify the exaust To make the bike run, No. To get the best out of it, yes.
or should I just do a IT/PE 175 and save all the problems!
