Just finished watching this on ABC Australian Story what a fantastic heart warming story of Three orphans banding together to take on the world.
Introduced by world motor cycle champion Mick Doohan
As a little boy, Glenn Scott dreamed of becoming a motorcycle champion… just like his heroes Mick Doohan and Casey Stoner.
Bikes were a family obsession but it was a passion that led to tragedy six years ago when Glenn's parents were killed during a road trip on their motorbike.Denis & Denise were the kind of hardworking, generous people who give the motorcycling community a good name. They were actively involved in both
dirt track & road racing and will be sadly, sadly missed by friends old & new.
Their values live on in their children Greg, Candy & Glenn, three amazing people whose strength & grace are an inspiration to everyone who knows them.
Glenn was only twelve at the time. His teenage siblings took over the tasks of raising the baby of the family and running their parents' nursery business near Sydney.
To the astonishment of many, the Scott kids also continued to race motor bikes.
Glenn won the Australian 125 championship and by the age of sixteen he was competing internationally.
Then, with family funds threatening to run dry, eighteen year old Glenn lined up in Spain for the most important race of his life…....two years of hard slog and work,No Australians interested in putting up 250k for our future RR kids on the Europe scene.
Best Wish's for the coming Superbike series in Aust Glen Scott. Apparently there is also a Junior MX NSW meet every year for there mum and dad- Denis and Denise.
