Forklegs done by paint shop. The side covers sprayed by me using spray can with flex agent added and plastic primer. 'drab olive'

The side cover paint was mixed by a local auto parts guy who can mix spray cans. The Drab Olive is an international standard colour. I have side covers without the drab olive for riding as they are easier to maintain.

Unfortunately the fork legs have proven to be a pain in the a%$# because they chip easily even tough 2 pack was used. The primer seems to not have stick well. The painter was told that they are mag alloy. The triple clamp paint at the same time are still perfect.

Do the fork legs suffer the chipping because of the fork oil leaching through the legs. I had a powder coater comment about this when I was thinking of getting some legs coated. In the end I thought better of it but any coating on the legs would be subject to the same possibility.

I thought about powder coat but impossible to get the correct colour in Australia at least. The fork leg porosity idea is a definite possibility something I had not considered as te legs never look oily but still possible. I may consider sealing on the outside with POR or something similiar.

Jared told me that some people have had problems with Marzocchi mag alloy fork legs distorting during powder coating so I didn't even consider it after that.

Yep three daughters and missus all with cars plus a 3.5m drive. Running off on the "sharp" bends ??? >:(. Brick discouragement worked and only had to realign a couple of times ;) Not a word from anyone but cars now stay on tar ;D

Was a little embarrassing when I hit one with wheelie bin and lost control but a small price to pay ::)

It was a wild guess  ;D.

Nice Bike  8), but I agree with the other comment about been a bit of a let down on atheistic appeal after the high point of the GP's, VR's and even the VB ::).
