Interesting that the old Montesa runs away from the WR-F in the technical stuff, but loses it in the "don't put a wheel wrong" stuff.

Is the difference in the riders or the bikes, I wonder...

A great ride. Apparently an old military road/trail on the French-Italian boarder probably to service and replenish the Italian forts that guarded the boarder.

This would have been the terrain over which that Hannibal brought his 'secret weapons', elephants, when he caused grief to the Romans about 2500 years ago. IIRC Hannibal did it in winter :o :o :o.

I'll put that on the Bucket List ;) ;D (just gotta get the Monty ready first 8) :D) .
