Hi Guys,
As Gorby said we had our AGM the other night and we are well on the way to organzing a great nationals Championship, The track is about 15 minutes up the road from Launceston, which has lots of accommodation, everything from camping ,backpackers to the casino, The nearest camping area would be the Hadspen Caravan Park which is about 6 minutes down the road and also has cosy cabins but these are very limited so you best hurry. There is also camping about another 6 minutes away at Treasure Island Caravan Park, what you guys need to understand is June is bloody cold as low as minus 6 over night camping is great but in Tassie in June is tough. There are lots of Motels and Hotels with in the Launceston area as well as accommodation in the Deloraine,Westbury area .
I am working on the sub regs now and will have them to Ma very soon and in turn I will release them to you .
Sidecars will be a go in Tassie but I need to now from you guys what classes you would like to run as we will run all classes as per the GCRs if there is enough numbers or will there only be enough to run a pre 85 sidecar class. I need your feedback.

All other classes will be in the sub regs as per the 2008 gcrs
At this stage noise regs are as per the gcrs at 96 db but I dont think this will be an issue, we still need you guys to lobby MA to change them back to match 102db which is historic roadracing .Get you state body to do that also. We have down here as Motorcycling Tasmania has sent a letter to all state bodys as well as the commision and Ma and so far we have received great responce from MSA and MNT I just hope we get the support of the other states.

We will keep you informed about all issues as time gets closer please look for the sub regs in the next few weeks and any other info will be posted

cheers
Shane Fraser

Hi Rossco,
you only need a pre 85 bike to qualify for a full Australian Championship This year there is every thing from pre 60 to pre 85 including evo and they are ALL Championship classes.
The sub regs are completed and awaiting MA approval, they will be out in the next week or so I will release them on this site as well as Motorcycling Tasmania site .

Cheers

OK Queenslanders, who wants to have their bike towed down to the nationals? I am going to take a flat bed and a large trailer. Trying to offset costs by taking others. I'm in SEQ

Pls pencil me in for a spot on the flat bed; I'm sure I can make it.

Depending how your going with numbers from QLD Brad, im in Newcastle NSW on your way through and like to get a couple of bikes there and more than willing to help with costs, guess it depends on how many QLDers put there hand up and just how much room you will have, ill just sit tight and see how you go :)

I'm sure you've thought of this, but I reckon you need to have a stand, or at the least, a bunch of fliers at CD5.

Other than that, places to advertise include ADB and Dirt Action and that free paper, Torque. Torque will most likely run a fair sized piece for you, give them a bell and see what they'll do. Both ADB and DA have those small sections where they put stuff like this and shouldn't cost too much for that.

Then find out which are the clubs most into vintage and get them to advertise on their club websites. Maybe even the vintage wbsites like QVMX, VIPER, WA VMX, HEAVEN and so on.

Think outside the square too. Speedway clubs like the SSRAV* do not race in the cooler months, and quite a few Classic Speedway riders have an older MXer or two  in the shed.. South Australia has lots of older machines with riders in clubs . Get to it you are on the net ,try Googling in Australian motorcycling clubs ,not to mention MA main or the State MAs club lists on their sites. If you get one entry from each club you try ....well think how many clubs you can find... ;) Offer a discount of some sort (it does not have to be much like $5 it covers postage and time to fill out forms!!) Get some local accommodation and eatery , motorcycle (maybe they might open the workshop on Saturday evening, that is always well received) , car hire , travel agent etc businesses to supply some cards, to post out with your poster/flyers! YOU have by now printed them ready to post out haven"t you ??
Fact.. You will not get enough entries by just fiddling around with important people like us here, we are in the know already. Tim.
* Speedway Sidecar Riders Association of Victoria .

I HOPE A LOT OF PUBLICITY OFFICERS TAKE NOTE OF AND COPY OTHERS AND MY SUGGESTIONS ! SO MANY GRIZZLE AND WHINGE AND CRY ABOUT LACK OF COMPETITORS AND ENTRIES BUT DO NOT BOTHER TO DO ANYTHING BUT TELL THEIR OWN SMALL CLIQUES AND GROUPS.. IF YOU DO NOT GET IN AS MANY FACES AS YOU CAN NO MATTER HOW SMALL AND TENUOUS THE HOLD OR ASSOCIATION YOU WILL MOST LIKELY BE DOOMED TO FAILURE. ADVERTISE YOU EVENT EARLY LONG AND HARD.

I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

Hi all,
Thanks for your reponses, Myself and the club President will be coming to CD5 to hand out flyers, sup regs and answering questions. We will also take payment from you if you leave it that late to enter.

Freaky the cost of bringing a car across at the moment is $99.00 for yourself and $61.00 for your car this will get you a sleeper seat that can be upgraded for about another $60.00 to a cabin. If you bring a ute with your bikes on the back this is resonable well priced, it becomes dear when you put a trailer on the back as they charge by the length.

Cheers
