HAs the committe or club approached the Boat people so as to get a discount to riders for the event ? im assuming the only way over is the boat so it would be good if someone could make the approach for a group discount or event booking so as to keep cost down and entice more folk.

We had our AGM last night and sorted out some stuff for the championships,we have a major sponsor signed up,and put together a sub-committee to organise the details.

Mathew Thompson remains as our president and Shane Fraser (alias Fatboy ) is the secretary again.
Any details that come up will be posted here by Shane or myself.

camping at the track is not available due to the usual liability crap, but there are caravan parks within 15- 20 minutes.

A motel style accommodation package is being formed at the moment and details will be made available ASAP

remember that it is only approx 21 weekends to go

Since when is camping a liability? This is new to me. Are we able to ride or is that too much of a liability (tongue in cheek of course)? So does this mean having to pack everything up every night? Please explain.

Camping together and have a yarn , thats how I always envisioned a title event . But it looks like noise meters and motels are the new way to go. I will have think again.

security will be the same deal as the 2003 nationals.  -pits and site protected by security personel.worked well at the last nats here.we left our bikes under our quickshade, some took their bikes with them. the site is an internal area with single access through several lockable gates.

Walter, the noise thing is being worked on,and I would love to have a classic dirt style camp but this particular venue won't allow it.There is no reason that we couldn't book out a large area at the local campground if thats what people want.

Most of our club members could offer a place to park a trailer or shed a couple of bikes if needed, all it will need is some communication, let me know your needs and we will see what can be done.

Gorby - the Shane Fraser you mention - is that the same one that rode MX around 78 for the STMCC?

thanks

rossco, there must be another s.fraser down here, our shane only took up racing a few years ago after taking his trailbike to a vmx meeting.
Are you still planning to come over and spend some time?

certainly shall - have booked the flights, accommodation and hire cars (will arrive on the Monday before) - just waiting on confirmation of the club container - looks like I will bring 3 bikes with me as my young fella will have a ride in pre 85 as well and I will do pre 75 250 and open.  Counting the sleeps now ;D ;D ;D ;D

What is the best or closest motel to Carrick? I want to book accomodation so will need to know fairly soon. A quick look for a motel in Carrick and "the computer says no". Help an old punter out boys.

have just finished going through the "looking for accommodation" exercise - dont rule out Launceston as it really isn't far up the road - and the road is excellent and winter rates are cheap.

cheers
