yeah Tim, there is a use for GSX450 donks after all! what a great idea and I kick myself I passed up on a freeby GSX just this past month! The nice little Sickman is none other than the fearless Don Thornton's..main man in the thick of the vintage scene at Coff's and NSW northern rivers area..incidently Don got his MA sidecar swinger accreditation on saturday too so he's officially one of your crew and another soon to be terminal crazy! ;)

Geeez, what a well run event, all day racing into the night, great racing and great atmosphere, looking forward to next year, well done to the Coffs Club and all the efforts put in by there family and friends, and to all the riders who made the effort to get there, if anything to come out of this meeting for the Coffs Club and No13, i reckon youd have to get your entries in early next year as you just may miss out judging by the number who turned up in the end, shame the TM let you down Doc, must have been because it had been sitting so long without any use seeing you didnt get to practice, (but geez it was motoring when it was going, just imagine what a bit of practise might do) ::) ;D ;D :P, The footage in the Pre 75 250s would be good to see if it is out there, two heats and lots of bikes and some close racing, mmmmm just dont get any better

PS Couldnt get the grin off Zorroz's face for a first time dirt track ride, couldnt shut him up with his first up trophy and now hes keen as mustard for his next one ::)

Rosco agreed, it was a super event and the TM does need to be ridden more ;D
I pulled it down last night, the plug had showed beaut colour all day, thankfully it's only the big-end fused itself together so that's an easy fix..zero damage other than this and everything was coated in a nice film of oil so my guess is the tolerance was too close to start with and it's not an injection problem like I'd pondered. Sure feel better knowing I didn't totally lunch a fresh new motor ;D it is a wonderful feeling getting your first trophy so I can imagine how blown out Zorroz must be..first time out..congrats Zorroz!..I experienced this last year and I still gladly show it off to anyone who may or may not be remotely interested ::) :D

Well Doc,
someone left before receiving their trophy for 3rd overall in pre75 125,
Only problem is the second place getter took home the 3rd place trophy by mistake,
The second place trophy goes on ebay to the highest bidder if no one claims it soon ;D
cheers Noel

Well all over for another year but what a great event!! Thanks to the 45 vintage riders who made the effort (thats 10 more than last year so we are still building this event) that added up to 80 odd vintage bikes on the grid. Add to that 60 club members in juniors and seniors and we had one of the BEST meetings held here for many years. The day was long and in hindsite if we do a day night meeting again we could shorten it but thank you to everyone for being patient as it was a first for us and we wanted enough time rather than running out of time. The racing was definitly the best I have seen in a very long time in all classes with full grids and heats and finals being the nature of the day. Big thank you to the Penrith boys who came up and allowed myself and another younger rider to do our sidecar accreditation. What an absolute buzz to be hanging off a sidecar again after a 30 year gap. Doc not real happy about you coming out of the closet all the time and giving me a touch up , but watching your near loss on the stop corner was sheer poetry and one of the best saves I have seen so well done on your trophy.Huge thank you to COFFS CLUB these guys and girls are just the best and the effort they all put in should never be taken for granted.Racing under lights was just the best and I am glad at my age I got to do it before I am no longer racing. Great bunch of competitors great bunch of helpers great day and night. NOW I KNOW WHY I KEEP DOING THIS

Congratulations Donnie. Even though there wasn't any Klub Kevlars in attendance this year due to bad planet alignment, we really appreciate the work you and the Coffs crew put into the meeting. Often we attend a race meeting, ride our butts off all day, get our trophy (I wish) and piss off home with hardly a thought to the hard workers who put on the event. Donnie, in recognition for your efforts and as an apology for our no shows, drop into the Kevlar Kompound at CD5 for a refreshing Kevlarita, Pina Kevlada or Kozel lager and a kevlar kebab or two.

The Sickmans little twin sister will be parked in the Kompound ready to meet him and reflect on their heart transplants and the old days when they were controlled by the evil Zundapp empire.
