Yeah i read the other day that the American Chopper series has ended....oh well they still have their iron works company to keep them afloat.

Just after we left the official story Paul Sr successfully took Paul Jr to court to recover the 10% share Paul Jr had in OCC. I like the attitude in the final 3 shows of Rick and Co to Paul Jr who had taken the glory while they did the work for years. I have a friend in the US who lives near them, Paul Sr and the Iron Works had pulled some shonky business over the years.

I gues this topic has got off the rails a bit, but here is another one that give's me the shits.

It's obviously not RM, the bore has a dirty big chunk missing out of the exhaust port and it's full of rust. A mate of mine sent him an e-mail to advise that it is in-correctly advertised, has the auction been ammended - No

That Sonic was on Ebay about a year ago.  It reached about $1,300 from memory.  She's pretty rough and needs a full resto.  It's missing the original vented side covers which are unobtanium.

With both these bikes up for grabs it will be interesting to see what the market brings.
With the 2nd bike at $3k add say another $2k / $3k to bring it to the same spec which way will the market go?
Either way, this is big money for these bikes.

Buy it now at $9000. Currently at $5100 with reserve not met.

How many do you want, never shortage of open class MXers on Tardme. I know of a few nice ex Californians that are yet to find a home at $5500.

Remember the pre inflation days when Trevor Williams SR sold for not much more money than they want for the KX500.

Over supply has killed open class prices, better to sink your cash into 250s and 125s.

I know the really sweet 83 KX500 - I supplied the NOS plastics for it. As he says, the bike has sat in his pool room and only been ridden around the yard. It is an impressive ride

Yeah I really liked that one as well, I could live out my SR500/Trevor Williams fantasies. Market is slow but price is not crazy when you compare it to a new KX450F.

Amazing to see these are so desirable nowadays.I raced one back in '84 in C grade series at Broadford and it spat me off over the downhill doubles (result broken collarbone).Sat round all day waiting for me mate Cheney to finish all his races so I could go home and get the fiance to drive me to hospital. She wasn't impressed .Bike was then sold to pay for the honeymoon.Big mistake.Always found I was sliding too far fwd in corners and burning knee on the pipe.I bought mine so for $900 at Elizabeth St start of '84.Cheney was riding one of Trevor Williams 250s he bought from Doyle at Kaw Aust if I remember. We wanted to look like our hero mate Ronnie Dinsdale who was riding Kawas for Cosway at the time.
