G'day. Guys,where do I start to look for a cdi for the CT?
Also what else suits if I can't find anything?

check out the modern AG175.
not too sure of the year model or number prefix.
the model with the layed forward shocks.
they have a CDI {with lights if needed}.
the "taper" size of the crankshaft will be the factor. Nathan may be able to shed some light on whether or not it will swap over as i'm no CT1 expert.
the AG175 taper is of the "larger" variety. same as the MX/DT250/360etc but with the smaller diameter stator plate.
if that makes any sense.
other than that, a modern DT175 will have the same stator plate diameter with a slighly smaller crankshaft "taper".
AG175 or DT175. ;)

AG100 is where its at.
Red tank or Beige tank AG100 should have a CDI. They go straight into the CT1 motor.

I also have a CDI stator plate that I think came from an early YZ80 (or late MX100?), that bolts into the CT1 motor, but I can't get it to run right with any of the flywheels that I have.
I've tried early and late CDI DT175, early IT175 and a couple of lucky-dip flywheels with this stator plate, but the best I've managed is for it to run reasonably happily, backwards.
The other flywheels either idle OK but won't rev out, or simply won't go.
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

It does depend on if you want the lighting circuit.

I run a YZ125X system on my AT1 MX race bike. I made a different stator plate out of a 6 mm aluminum sheet. Took some work but is perfect and spins up fine. There's also a conversion using a DT175 system but again needs a bit of work.

http://www.vintagemxracer.com/at1mxproject.html shows a simple conversion with a bit of welding. I'm going to use this one on a street CT1 project I have in the future using the DT bits.

13/50 gearing! :o My CT1 racer had 16/44 or 16/43, and was pinned in top over the tabletop at Clarence - and still didn't even go close to clearing it....
