Ossa Stilletto 250
« on: February 07, 2010, 08:26:08 pm »
How any original Ossa Stilletto are in Australia, Steve Cramer Race one in 1970 to 72 , you just don`t see them at any of our vintage meetings.
There must be someone that has one in this collection. Its got to be genuine.

The Phantom was found locally  one of every few sold over here . Mathews motorcycles sold a lot more early Stilleto and Pioneers. When the Phantom model came along Mathews had taken on Suzuki so the Ossa side die overnight .

Your Phantom was brought by Peter ridden a few times very nice bike .

A friend has two of these lovely Stilettos, both unrestored, complete and running. I've got dibs on whichever one he decides to get rid of.....whenever that may be!

Mick
When i built the 69 4 speed stilleto changed the the press steel yokes and forks to the 70 model 5 speed betor alloy as it was a race bike

On this forum knew some ossa buff would pick the forks
Mick spot on

I believe the pre '70 forks w/steel sliders were made by Telesco, replaced by Betor in 1970. I have a Stiletto Betor front end in my DT1, complete with triples and wheel. I've found the stock OSSA brake to be a shocker. Have you got yours working Tossa? If so what did you do to it? I tried everything that I could think of and it's still awful.
