I assumed he was talking about the long nut that goes through the top clamp onto the shaft, and that the top clamp is tightened onto the shaft of this long nut.
Does this cause any problems? ie does the nut loosen on the shaft, meaning the top clamp twists with the nut?
Sorry, just got back to this thread. Yes Mainline's got it. The long nut also acts as the steering bearing retainer/tensioner so isn't securely attatched to the steering post and will twist on the steering post thread.
