By request, here's a shot of me mate, Mick Mayes, up it for the rent on his Suzi 400 Slider at Sapphire Speedway, turn 4. He did stay on board ............  this time !!



 A little birdie tells me that Mick will soon be back on the track on board something a bit more, aaaah, bigerer !! a Slider, of course !!!

Here is a picture of Taffy (with tie on of course) outside his Yamaha dealership in Queanbeyan in the 70's, the guy in the suite sitting on the TY is Mick Andrews who was World Trials Champion at the time.

Unbelivably Mick Andrews never won the World Trials Championship the same as Malcohm Rathmell and Sammy Miller. It was only a European Championship at the time they won their titles. It was silly but the World Trials Championship only started in 1975.

Certainly all three of riders were the best in the world at the time.

Sorry, not trying to highjack just thought I would point it out.

My apologies if this has been up before but it is some great old footage, although a bit hard to see. Nepean, Amaroo, Young, Griffith to name a few. I reckon it's Carlos biting the dust at the 4.00 minute mark too Steve - very unlike the spear to go down just by himself

I just took over the Secretary position at my club, Gosford MCC and was handed a large group of mainly 60's photos.........here's a speedway shot from Morriset Speedway circa 1969............1st Peter Waters, Gosford member  2nd Bob Young, Villawood member  3rd Ken Hockey, Gosford member  4th David Mills, Villawood member..............I'm off to the Australian Blues Festival this weekend, so look forward to some more OLD photos when I return next week............
