Hi Wally,  123 is Eric Harrison and 895 is George Heggie,  57 is old Bill Brunton BWP,  149 is Doug Platts on Elstar,  800 is from Canberra or South Coast but I think you will find its also Boxers Creek and old Terence P.  No 1 is John Walmsley on a 250 Kawasaki and Steve your mum told me that you did that

Thanks for the South Coast clue on # 800 Ian, I'm pretty sure now that it is Don Greig from Moruya, he ran # 800 and his iron BSA slider is in the First Sliders thread on Vintage track with #800 plates also I have other photos of the bike. Don was an A grader in the early days and he is entered, with that number, in the Terry McDonald memorial race , Mt. Ginn 1972

What a buzz, just got off the phone to Don Greig, we had a long yarn, and Don confirms that it is him in the photo with Terry Poole at Boxers Creek, Don also told me that he was a member of the  MCC of Canberra and wore their colours.
He also told me that his bike is a DBD32 Goldie, bought from Paul Spooner and extensively modified by Don.
So one more piece of the puzzle slots into place !!

Yeah Ian, Eric Harrison is right on, I forgot George Heggie and I new his passenger at the time but can't remember now.
Eric H was a force to be reconned with on tar as well as dirt especially at Oran Park.
I'll dig out some more old shots that I took when I find 'em. Those were all taken by Ron Clark.
cheers

Talking to Don Greig today sent me looking for this photo, taken by VSRA Sec. and St George clubmate of mine , Billy Powell,  of the dummy grid at Surfair Speedway prior to the Vintage Short Circuit and Speedway
" Demonstration " that I wrote about , some time ago, in the Vintage Track / First Sliders thread.

L to R Dave Clifton, Evo Speedway, Cootamundra's Warren Crapp, Kevin Patton in the background, old mate in the black leathers rode a Rotrax JAP, yours truly on TD's Sandracer 84S, and vintage Speedway Sidecar owner Greg , holding Dons BSA.
Unfortunately Don is not in shot , but we may see him here this weekend to go to Ash Suttors Speedway Museum in Bathurst.
Oh yeah, a forum member's KTM in background ?, foreground ??,no prizes for guessing who !!

Thse were the days eh!
Love the line up of the ESO/Jawa next to a JAP next to a great looking iron BSA! Those old beezas went so well in classy competition!
 Wrapped cheers pancho.
