This pic is from another International Wallan in 1975 featuring Gaston Rahier and Vic Allan. By the way Vic beat Gaston on a 125 fair and square that day. Not bad concidering Gaston was the current world 125 Champ at the time.

For all the pussies on here that complain about any jumps over 2 ft high that we ride on..
Have a look at that jump from 1975!

Anton and I had trick125 Hondas on methanol and the int riders could only use standard fuel. We both led until the rough uphill off camber. Thats where Gastons factory extra 6 inches of travel kicked in.

Those down hill jumps were the best. Another great slight down hill was the old Crissy hills main straight launching pad.

I remember (as very much a pussy spectator) ... that the Wallan downhill jump had sharp, chunky rocks in it too.   No freakin' way I'd ever ride over that thing.   You guys are legends.

Within in this program is a CCM.
Lester Rowley CCM # 113 is yet another SA making the journey to Wallan. He has been among the scene before but like all SA riders he finds it hard to get his best results in this state. His riding is consistent and considering he rides a 4 stroke machine his placings are well earned. The CCM machine remains the last vestiges of the by-gone 4 stroke era and Lester campaigns his for reasons that remain clear only to himself.
Thankfully he does- though the sound will bring tears to the older brigade and the youngies will wonder what a machine such as the big single is doing out there with all the normal racing bikes.
The machine has lots of useable power and is easier to rider over longer periods than the faster two strokes. If Wallan track is wet then he will have a great chance to get into the results..
Thus this bike is in the WA VMX club-proud to see her still being raced  :P

They used to advertise that jump as a six foot heart stopping drop off ! first time of that baby scared the &%#@$# out of most Blokes. That was one hell of a track with nearly six inch suspension travel
When in DOUBT GAS IT!!!
