Stan,  how come you still have all of those programs with the results written in?  Was it parents keeping the records or have you always been an avid recorder of events?


I was lucky enough to have a big sister who used to come to all the meetings and for my 21st she put together a huge scrap book for me. It's funny, after she stopped coming to the meetings I stopped saving the programs etc.

No Hoony, l was thinking about it today, it was the south side of moe not Maffra. over or under the railroad track, about 10 to 15 k`s, small town up in the hills,

Yep my cousin is listed there riding a Maico and Im pretty sure i was at this event, i was only 10yr old, wide eyed, lovin the smell of 2 stroke and trying to persuade my parents to buy me a mini-bike..XR75's were the coolest back then for a kid,,,hahaha

Interesting you mention the Laurie Boulter MXs in SA of '76 & '77. Rode in both of those & was one of the lucky ones to pull a "Row 1" gate...Had a look through the old trusty shed archives to find a dusty 3rd place sash for '76 ( Mike Landman won that year) .

Gday Tony, yes they were great races. I unfortunatley started further back than you in the 76 ones.
