Anyone who can dedicate that much time to anything deserves credit.
Anyone who can dedicate that much time to anything that is ultimately useless, is a bit questionable.

Awesome skills, questionable application - imagine what he could have acheived if he'd applied his talents to a useful task, like rebuilding old dirt bikes... :lol:

It must be surely the season for goodwill and peace to all men when I once again agree with my learned colleague (above). ;D
Diane just looked over my shoulder and reckoned that " with his looks he should get out of the shed and be out chasing a skirt rather than building model cars".
As someone who loves to tinker with all things metal and mechanical, I'm in awe of his talent and obvious patience. The fact that the thing runs is even more impressive. Surprisingly though, he's not that unique. There's actually a museum dedicated to the skills of blokes like him. Mr Park, the Hawaiian fella shown below has put some pretty impressive work into his aeroplanes so take the time to check out his P51 Mustang and Corsair.

He should have made a full scale version so he could drive it. Even a go kart size. Makes me think that a guy that spends that much of his life doing that, would have the personality of a wet sock!

The beauty of scale is just that scaling up or down is easy. Considering he built patterns, cast then machined the components into a working scale model is pretty astounding.

This car has been around for a few years, he used original fabric in the seats, made his own tyres, list goes on/

my step father builds trains right down to the padlocks on the tool boxes, just stunning workmanship from old tradesman/
