Cyclegods bikes for sale
« on: December 24, 2009, 12:20:39 pm »
Due to some ongoing health and injury issues I have now have to sell my bikes, my VMX days are over :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(.

First up is my MX250A, it has a Circle-F pipe, PVL ingnition, Webco head and a few good spares. It is currently running a DT250A bottom end but MX cases and transmission are included as well as a spare standard bore top end, I also have two spare tanks (one is a mint 73 silver tank with yellow stripes) both are straight and in good condition. There are some other spares such as new cables, gaskets and sundries, plus a proper MX rear wheel with shouldered rim. I would prefer to keep it local to W.A for ease of delivery as crating can be a pain in the arse. No reasonable* offers refused

*while $1 may constitute an offer it is by no means reasonable

Second up is project TM/S-185 as detailed in http://ozvmx.com/community/index.php?topic=5280.0;all
I have most of the new gearbox parts and some of the bearings for the bottom end plus NOS oil pump and lines, plus a used protec chain tensioner which is a perfect fit for the DG swingarm. I would definitly like to keep all this as one project rather than splitting it all up for separate sale (Hey Doc this could be one for you ;)) PM me for more details

Sorry to hear that you have health issues. Hope you can sort them out, take care.  :)

Remeber retiring can often be a good ploy for buying a new bike when you make a come back.  ;D

Sorry to hear you're not well. I hope it's repairable and you're able to get to a few VMXWA events to help us benchrace a few memories. I know you've probably thought about it but maybe hanging onto the project bike and gradually building it up maybe an option - in a semi-retirement sort of way. Maybe good therapy. Anyway. Take care of yourself first and have a good Christmas - Felix #717

I'm not exactly dying  ;) but it was made clear to me that continued off-road riding may result in further kidney damage (blood in the urine is always trouble) as well as leaving me vulnerable to ending up like Christopher Reeve (I took a blow to the front of my head when delivering junk mail on postie bike which took me right off the arse end of the bike and left me with small neck problems from that point on), between that lot and my buggered knees it has finally all caught up with me. I can still ride on the road, a risk in it's own right, but it's a lot safer than trying to be first into the first corner, I will still wave a flag when I can and my mate Marc will still need a lift to meetings too.

Well, I reckon hang onto a bike and have one or two quiet rides a year, Mick. Be good to see you still turning out for Marc and the club anyway mate, you're always welcome and I'm sure your neat 250 will soon attract a buyer.

Regards GD  ;)

GC likewise I'm sorry to hear of your vmx retirement :( I'll PM you about the 185, a very worthwhile project that deserves completion I'd agree ;)

CG , Mate there comes a time when all of us will have to make the same decision you have made( give up VMX riding ) for our health .
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
                                           Cheers Stewart

I've been through it CG and retirement from racing isn't the dull old death sentence some will tell you it is. I now get a lot of joy from building the bikes and ocassionally putting someone on board them. Give it a try, finish the Suzuki because it's an interesting hot rod project that has a lot of your own ideas in it and see how it feels to be a gentleman restorer. If you aren't comfortable with that, flog it off and move on to other challenges. Having a wholesale fire sale might just be a bit of overkill right now.

Cyclegod, sorry to hear, a reality for all at some point.
Is the TM still there, I know someone looking for bits/ cases for a TM125 that is under restoration, maybe the 185 crosses over

Cheers Pete :)

Paul has it down pat there Cyclegod. It's what I do and still enjoy it immensely. ;)  Your health is the priority.  Cheers Tim                   Love the TM185
I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

The health dramas can be dealt with well enough but it's the financial side of things that have become an equal limiting factor. I haven't seen a minutes overtime since Oct 2008 and had my hours reduced in Feb 2009, I could barely afford the few meetings I went to in 2009 in fact I spent money I really didn't have to spare in 2009. Classic dirt is a unobtainable dream for me as are any further projects until work picks up and my hours are restored to normal.

With regards to CD7, if you can at least afford an airline ticket, the rest is organised from picking you up from the airport. Just keep that in mind and also bring your riding gear!  ;)
