Talk to Kym Powell from McLaren Vale, SA. He rode Suzuki trials sidecars at the highest level in Australia in the late 1970s and 1980s and now has a collection.

A few twinshock-era trials outfits have re-appeared in SE Queensland recently.

Another person who would be worth speaking with is Colin Parker. Colin rode a RL outfit for many years in the late 70's early 80's and was very competetive on it, (I can't remember ever beating him). From memory the engine was taken out to 320cc (or some thing close to that). I hadn't seen Colin for many years and then ran into him at the Clare Swap meet last year, he is now playing around with a DT1 VMX bike and lives in Edithburgh on the Yorke Peninsula here in SA. I have lst his phone number, but I would presume it is in the white pages.

ya know this is a little off track and my apologies for a slight hi-jack Brett but this 320cc conversion is interesting. In years past the '69/'70 TS250's could be taken out to 325cc but I've never seen the article nor do I know what parts they used to do it so this is where the interest comes in to it. That's all now, back to your regular program

Doc I'll hijack the thread a little bit more about Suzuki trials bikes. Did you know that a 325 Beamish Suzuki will be joining the Qld twinshock trials scene very soon (just been imported from the UK)
For more info theres a posting on Trials Australia about it.
London to a brick the bike will be ridden at the Brooweena twinshock trials event in 2010.

I think I may have a copy of a mag article from 70's taking it out to 322cc I think, using a Yam RT1 piston & new sleeve. I'll have a look.

Talking to Terry Holt recently, an expatriate englishman from SA/WA, he owned a 325 Beamish Suzuki in recent years but sold it to someone in Vic I think he said. (He likes his 250 Beamish better)

  no Brett, no hurry at all. It's just something I'd like to repair and swap over to my bro's bike someday to get rid of some hideous frame repairs that his bike exhibits I'll be in touch and Merry Christmas to you and yours

JC/Feetup the 325 Beamish motor is a bit different obviously having reed induction but not case/reed like the TS250/RM250. Will have to look into the specs a little more and see what was what, there was an article in Cycle Guide from Feb '71 on their project 322cc TS250 but apparently it didn't go indepth with the parts used.  Curious as always and yup JC you're right again..it was 322cc not 325cc
