XR80/YZ80 Unfinished Project
« on: November 22, 2009, 05:38:30 pm »
Here we have a nice little unfinished pitbike playbike project.

'81(ish) XR80 engine in a 1984 YZ80K frame. The motor was purchased as a smokey runner so it needs a rebuild almost certainly. I've never had it running nor have I inspected in internally but it shifts gears and turns over and such with no issues. The carb fitted is unknown chinese and it may or may not work, I don't know as the manifold has split :-\ It needs a rear engine mount fabricated (fairly easy) and it also needs a small crack in the frame near the left footrest welded and the kickstart lever is welded on. Brand new magneto cover. Brand new front tyre / slightly worn Dunlop rear. The front and rear suspension are both exellent as are the wheels, brakes and bearings seat tank etc. Plastics are painted obviously and not of showroom quality as it was going to be a pitbike. Needs a front brake cable, chain and some small details but the biggest issue is the engine needs the rebuild. Engine parts are readily available which is also a bonus. Offers above $500 considered. Bike is located in Brisbane and an inspection can be arranged. email [email protected] or phone Chris 3314 6481 (leave message and number if no answer)

Thanks Kevin/Michael ;) I reckon it has potential too and I'd really have loved to finish it off but Santa needs a little financing and the reality is I'll probably never have the funds to complete it when I have a prioety list a mile long in front of it :'( have to admit though..it looks pretty factory..kinda.. ;D will grab a pic of the otherside pronto..

KB..as nice as I think my XR looks it pales in comparison ;) 8)
