Converting Mk7 Pursang to left side gear change
« on: November 22, 2009, 05:32:59 pm »
I notice that a few Mk 7 Pursangs have been converted to left side gear change.  Does that also require that a Mk 8 rear wheel is installed to facilitate changing side for the brake pedal?

Does that negate eligibility in the pre-75 category?  ???  ???

I think you can reverse the wheel and fit the appropriate brake lever for the RHS. The hub is drilled to mount the sprocket both sides. The offset of the rim needs to be adjusted about 10mm if you want to be spot on. I did this with my Frontera
WANTED. Canams;all models,complete or parts.SWM stuff too!

i don,t think anybody would pick u up on a double sided hub , it,s not a performance thing , u could use a cable for the brake , would save the hassle of changing wheels and keep it more orig. personally , it doesn,t take mutch practice to get to know the right side change , i,ve raced l and r bikes on the same day , but it,s better  to ride all left or all right hand on the same day , also u can get the case bored and a boss welded on to take the seal ect ,
