1974
« on: November 17, 2009, 07:58:03 pm »
Due to a change in direction I have the following bikes for sale. All are of a very high restored standard and are currently on display. This is NOT a fire sale and the bikes are not cheap, although they represent good value for money given their rarity and condition.
1974 Kawasaki KX250
1974 Ossa 250 Phantom
1974 Bultaco Pursang 250 Mk7 Pomeroy
1974 Husqvarna Mag 250
More 1974 models to come.
PM or email to [email protected] for photo's and details.
Cheers,
K

I want all four  :-[ Sigh, Sigh, Sigh, Sigh. I'm not selfish just that having a theme, 1974 250's, appeals to me ;).

There's always Lotto ;D.

If the availability of competitive bikes is a criteria, 1974 would have to be the best year in MX history.
In the 250 class we had such classics as the Mag Husky, Bultaco Mk7 Pursang, Montesa VR Cappra, OSSA Phantom, Yamaha YZ250B, Honda CR250 Elsinore, KX250 Kawasaki, and KTM/Penton 250. In the "almost ready but just short on speed" we had the CZ250, Maico 250 and Suzuki TM250. Every one of these bikes was competitive and capable of winning on any given day at any given track. You name me a year when there were a dozen different competitive bikes in the one class?

Is the Kawa a F11M ?
thanks

Quote:Thats a very good description of what the F11M looked like. Tho I don't think the outer cases were sandcast, they were special castings & flyweight. The whole bike was flyweight. I'd say it definitely was an F11M.

The Kawasaki is a KX250. 1974 was the first year of the model. Only the 250 & 450 were fitted with the hammerhead shocks, the 125 (I have one) had conventional alloy bodied shocks.
