MONTESA 250 GP 1967

Reminising the past scrambler that l once owned. (Great Bike very rare.) That photo shot was taken at Morlake scramble track another great track.

l bought that bike off lyall  o`brien an d he built that bike out of NOS. it was a very fast bike 4 speed gearbox

One of the rarest of all Montesa's.   A mid year model (33M) right after the Lacross and right before the 53M "orange tanker"
Saw one of these in excellent condition go to Spain for crazy money.

Hmmmm, yummy. I think this is an Italian collectors bike. Wouldn't you like to have one in this condition Dave :). Wouldn't we all :D. Looks like it would be a creditable racer as well ;).

I'm sorry but I think everything before the "Clockwork Orange" bikes were uglier than most of the women I used to take home when I drank. YUG!

I did a fairly lengthy article on the Montesa La Cross in VMX #33 and after researching the model and having a good look at Cody Tellis's beauty I reckon the La Cross would have to be one of the prettiest Montesas ever. I recall Gary O'Brien ripping into the opposition at Ravenswood on his Dads La Cross back in the early '90's. I raced and visited Ravenswood a number of times back in the early '90's and fondly recall Gary O'Brien dominating the pre '70 class against serious opposition. He held his own in the pre '75 class on the bike as well.
I'd gladly own a La Cross so if anybody knows of one, I'm interested.

Is this the Red/silver rendition?





One more; Was this an OEM paint scheme or a personal expression of good taste (hey, it was the psychedelic 60's ;D).

OEM... including the slash across the carb apron. The slash on the red bike is incorrect.
Cody's blue bike is correct.

I was referring to the last one.

There seems to be a progression The Green one was first with a rudimentary chamber. The others seem to get a more sophisticated pipe as they went along.

they were never green, and the pipe on that is home made, the original pipe was oval, my bike was oval.

I once had a tank frame and other bits and pieces for a 250 Impala. The tank was the same shape, in steel, and was dark green (original paint) so maybe it was only for the road bike version.
