Seems that Maico did both air cooled and water cooled bikes of the same model. I have heard of air cooled and water cooled 500's as well. Is that correct?

Nice bike. I recently purchased a good barrel & bottom end on US Ebay for $150, but when I got the postage cost I nearly died so I had to forget it. The seller wasn't to happy but he didn't get back to me before the auction ended.
I have and 84 SC250 which was apparently Rob Langlands old bike and a 85 250 M-Star. Funny the difference between countries. My 85 has Maico on the seat but the closest I could find was M-Star which I sourced from VRM Racing in Portland, Oregan. I would really like to have the 85 running first as I haven't seen to many running about and it has the original front disc where as the 84 has had a 84 KX front end fitted.
This front end will be going into my 84 SC500. Either way these are my favourite period Maico's ;D

There was a young bloke kicking around the Swap Meets about 10 year ago with an 84 250 Enduro. It was in pretty good nick and I think he was asking $1800-2400. I didn't have the dough at the time otherwise I would have considered it. The last time I saw it was at the Hawksberry Showground/ All Holden Day Swap Meet. I wonder who got that one?
