I don't know why but it seems that everyone leaves their entries until the very last minute. It's a pain in the arse for organisers and inconsiderate by entrants but that's the way of vintage racers unfortunately. With 50 entries and a fortnight to go, that's a lot better than other promoters have received in recent years. It'll be OK by closing date.

I resemble that remark.
Life is too complicated at times and this is definitely one of those times.
At this stage I'm at long odds to make it down for what will no doubt be a great race meeting and social get together, which pisses me off big time.
I'll be at nepean in 2 weeks for sure, " Huey " permitting.

Having been the Race Secretary for the South Coast Cup at Sapphire Speedway from 1996 to 2006 and other events there, late entries were par for the course , having to make up and then print the programme for those and other events at Moruya's Surfair Speedway ,  late entries were the bane of my existence, so much so I would leave producing the programme till the very last possible day , so I echo Firko's thoughts on the matter , however the problem exists all through the Dirt Track scene.

Having dealt with so many riders over the years , all sorts of things can happen to affect when a rider enters a meeting , so we just lived with it , after all we did it to give the lads a ride.

For example , the bloke that was to ride me XT pulled out early this week , so I offered the ride to another fella , he will ride , however the paperwork won't be sent untill Tuesday.

I know where Steve's coming from , too ,so all I can say is , Guys, if you are coming to Griffith , get your entry in ASAP , please ,to make Micks work a bit  easier,

See Ya at Griffith

Allan, Steve, gdr & Firko you are all on the same page as myself.
As a club(Griffith Motorcycle Sport Club Inc) we have raised sponsorship monies for the classes we anticipate about 28 classes which all our sponsors have paid in full. We have paid MA $1650.00 to host the titles (non refundable), MNSW $200.00 for a camping permit, trophies, programs, spending $10,180.00 to refurbish toilet fascilities, booked lighting towers & genset, groomed track to near perfection, organised workers, flaggies, canteen & every other small thing that is not seen to provide us(the riders) with THE BEST AUST TITLES in years.
Then we have got to prepare our bikes to ride in our spare time.
The entry form is only an A4 page to fill out, a cheque,a self addressed envelope not a heap of work to do to get it sent in.

Our GMSC committee was sceptical about running the Classic Titles so Peter 52 & myself have guarantee the event from any loss out of our own pockets as we both have a passion for  classic dirt track & its future.

Enough of the bitching see you all here in Sept for a great weekend. Got 9 more entries today Pits might not be big enough  ;D

Hi Kerry, just enter the pre 75 capacity event and with your DOB (you supplied on the entry) we will put you in the right division.Look forward to borrowing your funnel, or do I have to bring my own? Sound odd you only bringing two bikes, don't forget the All-Powers support (open to all capacities).

Pete,....IM bringing a PRe 70 250 , and a pre 75 360. throw in an age race thats 15 laps each round x 5 rounds, thats like 75 laps plus practice ?  and  ill be Rooted after the first practice....... and you want more freaky....

Im out of bikes ( all looking very said from this years racing, and i have had to cobble thses one together as it is- best laid plans and all that - ran out of time, we only finished last week) so unless theres a spare ride at the track, thats all im racing this time around.  ( would have loved to drag a slider along to.........)  meh next time.

P.S  -  I have packed a spare funnel for you.

P.P.S  -  Will there be Petrol or Methonal for sale at the track ? or will the local town sell premium Fuel or will i have to go and get more Fuel containers and haul in to the track ?

Hi Freaky. We are the da bush but there is Caltex or Mobil here with bowser premium & Mobil has Methanol in 20 litre drums on the shelf ($55.00 about),but it may by wise to give them a call (before us Griffith dudes get hold of it all & inflate the price)  Belford Petroleum 0269621074 to make sure they keep one aside for you. They are open Sat mornings. If you are stuck to pick it up just pay for it over the phone & one of us will get it to the track for you.

We a set for a cracker another 30 entries in the last few days. The phone at Micks(assistant race secretary) has not stopped.Pete 52 & myself are off to Nepean this weekend to rustle up the rest & have some fun at the charity weekend.
Enter the classes that you are not quite sure of & if you can't ride the extra class we will refund the money for the extra class at sign on.
