Not bad Mr Vandy, not bad. :) I'm just surprised you didn't change your race number to #39 for this one?
You've probably mentioned it before, but what is the pipe from?

428 chain = not geared as tall as you think, Freaky.

The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

#789 means you'll have to ride it on Dirt Track.
Short Circuit/Dirt Track legend Charlie Edwards' race number.
Very good resto Vandy.

Thanks guys, pipe is a homemade "flat biscuit" special. Forks, head & carby are from the 77 125d model. Chain is a 428 set-up.

If you go onto classic dirt track images in the Foto Forum, there are quite a few, but be prepared to search because there is about 60 pages, I know there is at least one in the last few pages.
Cheers, Steve

vandy
not only was charlie edwards a great rider he was the best 2t tuner ever.he made 2t sing.from bantams to bultacos to as1s and tr3s all in slider frames.i saw first hand a tr3 hagon at bendigo dead last off the start but first at the finish and would destroy a brand new speedway tyre in the process.

Correct me if I'm wrong Jim but it was ridden by Brittish Speedway legend, Nigel Boocock?

Pitch has no affect on ratio

Nice job Vandy, great looking bike.
What is a "flat biscuit special"? Looks like a good job on the pipe.
Pete.

Hey Pete,
"Flat Biscuit" is a bit of an ongoing joke with a few of my older brothers mates.
basically, the guys that influenced me into bikes all those years ago :)
i designed, rolled, welded the pipe myself. i've done a few now and i'm sure there's better out there but i'm pretty happy with this one.
maiden ride in a very small suburban back yard yesterday to check gears & clutch and she sounds real beaut!
i think the nieghbours prefer the Briggs & Staton though ;D
as for the 428 chain,
both the 125"X" and the 125"C" run different primary gear ratio's. not that that means much to me. mine is running the primary gears from the "C" model which ran a 428 chain.
it was just what i had lying around really.
so on it went.
so hows that 400 thang coming along Pete?
any progress?
