First Annual Klub Kevlar Show'n'Shine, November 15, Alroy Tavern, 371 Rooty Hill Road North, Plumpton.
In a bid to spread the VMX message to a new audience, Klub Kevlar is holding a show and shine style vintage dirt bike show in the picturesque grounds of the historic Alroy Tavern in Plumpton on November 15. The tavern, a converted country mansion is situated on a couple of acres of beautiful manicured lawns and gardens and is conveniently situated between two M7 Motorway off ramps making for easy access.
We are hoping to attract as many classic off road machines representing all classes ranging from speedway to Pre 90 VMX. To give the event a sense of 'showbiz' there will be show awards for various machine classifications as well as some great product prizes. However, just because there is a show element included in the display, don't think that we only want concourse garage queens. We encourage you to bring as many bikes as you can manage, whether they are barn find 'fresh' or concourse pristine restos. The object is to show the public the huge variety of machine choices and degrees of finish that go to make up our sport. Our aim is to display that our sport encompasses all sorts of bikes and degrees of resto standard.
There will be a playground and clowns for the kids, a charity auction with great items on offer, all proceeds to go to the Noel Clarke fund and the pub management has indicated that they will offer a meal special that is yet to be finalised.
For the Show'n'Shine to be a great event we need as much of your support as possible. Entry is FREE but we need to know if you're coming. The Alroy management has kindly offered us the run of the grounds but to make sure that the show layout and catering is correctly formatted we'd like to get a ball park idea on how many of you and how many bikes will be in attendance. Please PM me and let me know if you're coming and how many bikes you'll be bringing.
This is a great opportunity for us to show the public what VMX is all about. All proceeds will be going to help one of our injured mates and it's also a great opportunity for us to socialise without the distractions of a race meeting getting in the way. If all goes well this could well grow to become a yearly event. Setup starts around 7.30am and the show should wind down around 4pm
