It'll be interesting to see how many of the pre '75 hard core turn up to race. I see interesting times ahead for a state that has relied solely on pre '75 up to now. With such a limited population base to draw from, I'll be curious to see whether the racers for pre '85 come from the existing VMX gene pool or whether a new generation of racers make up the majority.

Good point Firko.  They ran a pre85 event as a support class, most competitors were from the VMXWA club and I believe over half the bikes were pre 75, including mine and we all had a blast.  From that Paul Copley and a group of people have pushed the pre85 regime here (my wife christine built the website) and they are now coming out of the woodwork, including VMXWA riders who want to be able to ride a pre85 bike as well as the pre75.

The idea of a pre85 club has been pushed before but with little momentum or support and they ended up as members of the BSAHD Club.  This push it to make it a seperate entity and provide a different option for VMX riders.  Not in competition with VMXWA but hopefully in time working with them promoting all forms of VMX

I believe we have already been invited to ride at some modern events next year,Tumbellgum (natural terrain) Manjimup 1500 (an absolute classic track and event totally suited to pre85) and club events at i believe Colie, manjimup and BSA.

The club hopes to be affiliated before the end of the year

Hoping with enough promotion and time the pre 85 bikes will come from the darkness of sheds.  8)
Making a balance out of the two eras in WA.
We may gain- they may lose riders-visa versa.
Time will tell.
Marketing,education and promotion isn't that right Firko  ;)   ;D
cheers

Have to agree will take some work to get it right.  Will be a slow process getting the bikes out of the sheds.   It's a small state in a lot of ways but especially in population, so would expect a few from the VMXWA to bring out a pre85 bike.  As long as the blinkers come off on both sides of the fence i think there is room for both clubs and an ability for them both to work together.  because in the end it's all about the promotion and fun of the sport.

He (fatboy 2) won't be there last seen sitting on a gerbil in deepest africa.  Told him of the event, I don't think he's talking to me.  He should be back in tassie, he's holding his breath and stamping his feet, like all good Taswegians do
