SA Historic Scamble titles Solo and Sidecar
« on: October 19, 2009, 05:17:50 pm »
Hi guys, some pics i took on the weekend, some you might find interesting.

Don Bowey took out the 80s classes and Freaky the pre 75's  250  ;)

Heaps of fast old chairs but the buggers dug axles deep ruts you could lose a small army in.

Even Ex world champion side car chair from the man himself was there, think it was an 850 stroked out to 1000, but certainly lifted out the gates.

I'll stick us many pics as the system will allow..

Nice one Chris, not sure why you have a shot of me putting my shirt on :D and the other must have been in the morning, the only time i stayed on front of Troy all meet.

Got the hole shot all day, but just couldnt keep them out in turn 1, those drop off's down the straight, has reminded me to sort out some shocks, man that was sketchy tank slap down through there.

Big wraps to Luke blesing again, how that kid can ride all classic classes, the modern MX and then back up as a swinger in the same event blow's my mind, he only had time to pee when they stopped for lunch.  Colin Kranz as did all the Whyalla guys rode well and made event worthwhile.

Good to see Don Bowey and tony cook fight it out all day on those matching 250 elsinores.

And i cant remember the last time  i saw so many TM in one race, good to see so many still racing.

Not sure why you didnt take up my offer to ride the other 360mx, chris ?    must have been a  Long way to travel for you to not get through the day, stupid bullies  :D     you should have done a 414, and come over to the Dark side.  It Sat there all day in the end, didnt need it but almost did, both bikes lost the exhausts and bend the TM's right peg down off that stupid jump up the hill, kept waiting for someone to snap somthing over it too big and sky shot for a historic scamble :-X

Thanks Ali  :P

Leith that chair of EML's was a good looker.

That track looks great Freaky. If I'd paid attentiion and realised the event was on I may have taken a few weeks more leave and come down for it.
I'll be in Adelaide in a few weeks for the XT/TT500 muster and a bit of sightseeing.

YEp brent, its on every year and cause its a one day event , even the mexicans, have figured out that they can sneak over the border and steal a state title in a single event.

In true 4 banger style, shane Kraft road the thumper  TT 500 (#778) to i think was a 3rd place in the pre 80's.

Tony T will be down there mustering  ;D.  you going any where NSW on the way home ?

Freaky,

Thanks again for the offer.  I was a bit hesitatnt to borrow first time out.

The f*$#n Bultaco ran perfectly Saturday; started second kick.  Come Sunday practice, it felt sluggish and I had to rev the tits off it (when I could find the right gear with the wrong foot).  Then, as I rode in after practice I noticed the engine running on, but not a cable problem.  After that; she no start.

The almost but not quite has me thinking its sucking and blowing through the crank-case seals.

It was a real reminder of the old CZ days (push, push, push.....).

Anyway, I headed off home and jumped on the new G 650 GS and headed to the beach for a drink, so wasn't such a bad day after all.

So Freaky, who won what in the chairs. Did Wally get up or did someone else pick him off with even more HP than the big Yamaha can muster-120hp I was told!

Freaky could you post the date early if possible for next years title please? Looks very inviting Cheers Tim754.  Noticed one of the sidecars is a 500/4 were any 754s about?
I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.
