Triple World Champion Jason Crump sustained a broken collarbone after crashing during a Russian League match at Vladivostok yesterday.
Crump, who currently lies second in the 2012 FIM Speedway Grand Prix World Championship title chase, is now flying directly to Geneva in Switzerland to undergo immediate surgery to repair the collarbone.
The Australian remains optimistic that he will line up at the next round of the World Championship in Croatia on 28 July.
“My sponsors Red Bull have arranged the surgery and their specialist medical team will plate the collarbone,” said Crump.
“I will miss meetings in Poland and Sweden this week but I hope to be fit enough to ride in the next Grand Prix in Croatia in just over a week’s time.”
