I would guess that your setup may be relying on the local cache initially, rather than checking the page on the server straight away. To test this, go to Tools, Internet Options, General. Then select Browsing History, Settings. This should be set to 'Check for newer versions of stored pages: Every time I visit the webpage'.

If that doesn't work, it may be a setting for your cookies, though if it is remembering you I'd expect the cookies are OK.

See how you go.

too easy

up the top go to Tools

 select internet options

depending on the version of your browser select browsing history settings

now we need to find temporary files.

select update file info every visit to page. save and exit. then close down explorere and then try. if that dont work then your ISP has you on a psuedo fast load thing .

 Bills in the mail ;)

ok can any one help with this. everytime i run virus scan (AVG) it picks up 'tracking cookies' and puts them in virus vault so im guessing they are not too good. they have these real weird names like weborama.com and doubleclick.com all places i have never been to. are these tracking cookies something to be concerned about or is it just the virus scan doing its job?

Many websites use 'cookies' to store information about your web browsing. A cookie is a small file with some simple information in it. OzVMX uses cookies to record things like what was the last post you viewed or to remember you etc. Many sites use this information to decide what content to show you (especially advertising sites). By and large a cookie is mostly harmless in itself, however it depends on what the cookie stores and how the site makes use of it. Most virus scanners will report cookies of this nature, although only certain ones are flagged as being of real concern. Usually they are just warning you so you can decide what to do. Some cookies are useful as they will store details of your use of that site so next time you visit it's all set up to suit you.

I tend to delete all cookies rather than try to decide if I want them or not.

yeah i tryed to delete all cookies but then it gave me hassles trying to log onto this forum and on each different page i went to i had to log in and it wouldnt remember that i had already signed in. i think i will just keep it the way it is but make sure the virus scan gets rid of the 'tracking cookies' but still leave the normal cookies there.

AVG .. the free one?/Hmmm if so Time L to look at "paying" for a (hate to say it) Better Quality Antivirus and antispyware program suite. Not that overpriced resource hogging overly  complicated Symantic  Norton  thing. Try. Kaspersky, Trend, etc or what I have used for three years and had an excellent trouble free run AShampoo . All that shit you mentioned above found instantly and eliminated completely. Free antivirus? yas get what your pay for.....  Cheers Tim
Then again I recommend the free programs like Firefox for your Net and Thunderbird for your Email as I really dislike bug and hole filled Windows Outlook Express and Internet Explorer and please do not mention that total pile of pus Vista.....

I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.
