Top effort with the weight Firko, how'd you do it? Went on Tony Ferguson last year and went from 125kg to 88; but after a stressful work year (working in the education system sucks big time at the moment here in Qld) I've put it all back on. Donny Newell reckoned I was getting too skinny to fire the ccm. At the moment' wife Jo and I are applying for Principal jobs back in Vic, so it will be intersting to see what the new year brings, definetly see you at the Bonanza
Rosco.

Yes Firko, congrats again on the weight shedding, dunno if I'll recognize you now! :D

A solo or full on slider is something I get great pleasure from watching but also the one style of bike I have never ridden. When I was a kid my dad dragged me along to the ekka speedway every saturday night. I witnessed riders such as Ole Olsen, Andre Michinek, Ivan Mauger, all the Poms, Aussies Billy Sanders, Phil Crump, Johnny Boulger, Jim Airy, Steve Reinke, Jack White, Titman, Bob Gourlay, Ray Sullivan and a whole swag of world champs past and then present including the riders from behind the iron curtain which was quite a big deal back then. I could sit and write a huge name list, so many riders and so many memories are indelibly etched into my brain for recollecting at the slightest provocation. When I worked for Kingo fresh out of school at 14 I was surrounded speedway memorabia and through Bert I got to actually meet many of the greats who at the time were nothing short of Gods in my eyes. I often sit and flick through youtube searching speedway these days, there's quite a bit of vintage solo stuff on there and no matter what anyone says I still reckon it's one of the most extreme motorcycle disciplines one could undertake and it takes much bigger balls than I'd EVER have to keep even a vintage Jawa or Weslake WFO around the ekka like I witnessed so many do :o they may run in circles but I reckon sliders and speedway solo's on full noise are one of the most exciting things I can ever witness ;)
