Had two experiences recently.
1) Searched high and low to find a 18 mm sparkplug tube spanner. SCA didn't have them (every size but) however a Chinese supplier had them on eBay for $5 each with free postage. Seems reasonable so ordered 2. Arrived today and won't fit without hammering over the hex, wall thickness so thin they buckle when turned and the holes to poke the rod through to turn them don't line up. Straight in the bin! You get what you pay for - if you're lucky!
Can anyone suggest a supplier of decent 18 mm sparkplug tube wrench. There is no room on the aircooled Husky 510 to use a regular long series 18 mm socket - diameter too large.
2) Bought some fancy pants RHK folding levers off F1Moto from Appin on eBay. Photos and description showed exactly what I wanted - cable operated, perch mount and OTF adjuster. Add said it was for a Husaberg FE 550 but I didn't care what it was for - just knew it would work on my bike. They sent me a hydraulic lever that was nothing like the listings picture or description. I told them they sent the wrong thing. They assured me it was the right lever for the Husaberg and it was just the photo that was wrong. I begged to differ and told them it was their mistake and I could see on their website that they stocked what I wanted and what was shown in the photo in the eBay listing. They said I would need to pay more as that item was more expensive than the one I bought. I have asked them to stand behind their listing and supply the part they showed in the ad. I will see what happens but I sense an eBay dispute coming on. Businesses like this should put the customer first and if they screw up then make it right ...not make it the customers problem. One thing for sure my custom will never go there again and others will be told
if they don't do the right thing!
