« on: November 23, 2015, 03:06:35 pm »
G'day all,

I'm thinking about modify my 1981 Dr500S into a nice sidecar. Can anyone give me some basic instructions of building a sidecar and where could I get the parts such as steering damper and leading link forks from please? will be appreciated if anyone could help me out. (Just do some research before I start to working on it...it won't start till the end of next year. Got a 3 wheeler project ATM ;) )

Thanks,
Jacky

The leading link needs to be built to suit the bike. You will be wasting time and money trying to fit one that was built for something else. I am not a fan of steering dampers, especially those heavy Volkswaggon ones that many seem to use. They make the steering so heavy and require a lot of effort to turn the bars. Speak to member 'EML' on here, he has experience with DR500 sidecars.

Did you see any of the articles from ADB about Geoff Udy's DR500 sidecar?
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.
