-81/-82 Trick parts
« on: November 12, 2010, 10:47:54 pm »
Hello.
I'm planning to build a special-looking CR430-82.
I have a set of Husky-ProCircuit sidepanels and rearfender with numberplates, and a 43mm KYB fork wich I plan to use. I've seen pics of a US huskyteam using this back in the day.
Then I've seen a boostbottle conversion buildt into the tank I want to try to make.

But I wonder what more period modifications that could be added to the bike, not much to find.
So please put up pics of cool parts and modifications used on -81/82 Huskys! :)

Also if anyone have pics of good looking paint/design to give it that special look.

Thanks

I believe some places like www.husqvarna-parts.com has some replica Procircuit bits like brake pedals.

I wonder if there were any trick swing arms available. Cant say I recall any but someone must have made them surely ??? ??? ???. Sun rims were probably another mod - get away from 17 inch rear which Husky did it in 83 so maybe people were doing it earlier. Post a photo of your beast - before and after  :) :) Good luck ;D

I think Thor (?) had a swingarm. If money is no problem I would contact Karl Landrus.

I think a Maico 490 swing would almost fit, and then there's several alu. types to choose from. But I have two other expensive builds going on, so I can't spend so much on this bike...
I was thinking of putting on a Maico490 stock steel swing, to get that banana look...?

The Mossbarger reed block is a good mod....at odd times they come up on Ebay...you can still buy them new ....later ones had a neck for the connection to the boost bottle...You have to move the airbox back a little to fit it in...slightly deeper than the standard HVA reed assy...and IF...you could find an Asch pipe..well.... :-*

I think they still make them or can make them. i was reading a husky club newsletter and Mossbarger were advertising the reed valves in there a few years ago so they must still have all the patterns and tooling for the Husky valves. Worth emailing them anyway.

Yes the Huskyjunk website has Mossbarger reed blocks listed for sale.
I put one on my '83 430 years ago and it was the single best improvement i made to that bike, well worth it.
