When we purchase goods from overseas we pay postage for the delivery to, lets say USPS for items posted in the US. Then the goods arrive in Australia and the delivery to our address becomes the responsablity of Aust Post. How do USPS pay Aust Post for completing the delivery? I can't imagine that an account is sent for every item that arrives. In the case of deliveries from China sometimes the postage is cheaper from China to Australia than it would be from Parramatta to Liverpool. So if they do pay Aust Post a fee then it stands to reason that China Post would pay less than USPS because they charge less for the postage from the start, that doesn't seem fair. Or do the destination countries do it for free? Thats not possible when you think of all of the overseas mail that arrives each day not just parcels.
The more Bourbon I have the harder it is to get my head around it, so I will leave it up to someone else to figure it out, then they can tell me.
