1986/87 KX250 motor stuff [Sold, pending payment]
« on: February 26, 2014, 09:03:00 pm »
No treasure, but may be useful to someone?

Both engine numbers begin with KX250EE-00xxxx.
Motor on the right has a seized big end.
Motor on the left seems to have a good big end.
Barrel NEEDS to be replated. Power valve missing.

Note the different primary drives, and water pump/PV drive gears.

All sold, pending payment.

In Yass, southern NSW.

I wonder if much of it will fit the 88 KX250, incase I need anything for the bikes I have?

'87 was a one off engine, not much interchanges with anything else.

Yeah, that would make sense. I second-guessed myself when I saw the two different primary drive gears.

FWIW, it seems that all of the newer KX250 motors (and presumably some older ones) share the same architecture. I would not promise anything, but I'd expect that the crank and gearbox would be interchangeable with the 88 models.
