If you're after ideas for colours have a squizz at the yellow '81 Maicos in the latest pommy 'Classic Dirt Bike' mag.
They're more than bikes, they're Hornbags!!

Hi Gents
I am looking for some advice. I have a duplicate Maico Alpha 1 single shock 250 (completely restored). I have a part restored Maico 440 frame without a complete motor ( do have cases, barrel, head). I have considered using the complete 250 single shock  bike as a donor bilke and converting it into  a twin shock Maico 250cc.
Obviously the motor and frame will not match, The motor is from an 1982 single shocker, the frame probably late 70' S.
Any suggestions ?
Alternatively will the 440 barrel slip onto the block of the 250 ? Do the motor swop with the 440 barrel, head and pipe ?
Once again any suggestions ?
Many thanks
Gavin w
