I think early KDX250 is the same also, I just bought one from the States for my KDX400, I'm going to try an internal flywheel this week.

Keep in mind that Zedder gets in wrong on occasions

Part # = 21007-1012
Part Description = MAGNETO FLYWHEEL
Model Count = 5
KDX250-A1 80 250 KDX250 OFF ROAD
KDX400-A1 79 390 KDX400 OFF ROAD
KDX400-A2 80 390 KDX400 OFF ROAD
KDX420-B1 81 420 KDX420 MOTOCROSS
KDX450-A1 82 420 KDX450 OFF ROAD

Flywheels have a code to identify them, it is stamped on the outer face of the flywheel.
I suspect that Kawasaki didn't make their own flywheels and this is a code from the manufacturer
KDX 175 - FP 4180 - 107mm OD - 1.055 Kg (this one has some extra Araldite in it)

86 KDX 200 - FP 5119 ( no compliance)

87 KDX 200 - F4 T100 ( with compliance) - 112mm OD - 1.26 Kg

83 KX 500 - F3 T205 - 118mm OD - 1.42 Kg

83 - 85 KDX 250 FP 5173

The 87 KDX 200 flywheel fits onto my KDX 175 crank to the same position. My memory was that I couldn't use it when I tried to years ago because the rotor and stator are both bigger in diameter.
The KX 500 flywheel doesn't go on as far and sticks out around 5-6 mm when pushed onto the 175 crank, not convinced the taper is the same on this flywheel as it rocked a little bit nut I didn't try that hard to fit it home all the way.

My gut feeling is that most of the early 250 & big bore flywheels will be similar on the taper but may vary in rotor & stator dia.

Personally I am after a 86 - 88 KDX 200 flywheel and stator if you come across any you don't want.
