Fork Oil quantity for 1984 XR200R
« on: October 01, 2013, 11:30:00 am »
Hi out there....  ;D ;D
Would anyone know the amount of fork oil for a 1984 XR200R.
Am getting ready for Murphy's Creek Vinduro this weekend and I think the forks are empty....very bouncy.
Will try and find a free download for the manual however am running out of time.
Cheers Terry

simply pull the springs out, compress the forks and fill to 180mm from the top. that will get you out of trouble.

use 10 weight or if your light try ATF or mix a bottle of 5 and 10 wt

cheers

Specs require 355cc per leg. If there's little or no oil in there you might want to invest in some seals. Pretty likely that the oil departed via some crook seals.
WANTED. Canams;all models,complete or parts.SWM stuff too!

Thanks guys.
I will drain and fill with the required amount. I'm sure it needs new seals however that will have to wait until after this weekend.
I've used ATF before and seems to work well. I'm 82 KG without riding gear.
