Ha, I could do with staying away from pies & beer.
I’ve been thinking about hanging around with Tatey so I can lose a few Kilo’s with the tried and trusted ‘sickness diet’

You won’t normally notice my arms on a Zed as once they are painted they blend in like a normal arm.
The main difference between the 73 to 74 arms is the width of the axle slot. The 73 and earlier arms are 8mm wide each side whereas the 74 7 later are around 37mm wide.
So yes you will need a longer axle
I can’t see any reason why the axles would bend in the 74’s any more than the 73’s. They are all supported the same, the axle is only longer to go through the wider axle slot each side.
If guys are hammering there bikes to bend an axle in a 74 then the 73 axle would have bent too.

My arms are based on the aftermarket CMS arm.
No doubt a secondhand arm is going to be cheaper than one of mine but mine are built from heat treated 4130 aircraft grade Cro-Mo tubing and come with needle rollers, sleeves, seals and snail cams.
The axle is extra.

What are the axles worth Geoff, the 74 arm I've been offered to use doesn't come with 1 because the bike it's out of now sports a Falta frame & everything but the frame & swingarm were swapped across

Geoff that set up looks pretty good. I suppose these swingarms fit straight into the 73 frame without any hastle? The swingarm axle is the same as the original as well I suppose? Also what is the rear axle made from aswell?

Carl, that is exactly the setup I have on my bike and it is a 73 frame, originally a 984 125 frame but all the same.I also purchased the axle bolt as well from Geoff.I just clear coated mine because I like that raw look.If you still want pics of how it looks on the bike send me your email and I'll get some to you.Paul

My axles I sell for $110.00
They are just machined from CS 1020 which I beleive is strong enough.
Haven't heard about any CZ axle bending problems before, I wonder which ones are bending as there are some hollow Cro-Mo axles around but I had been avoiding going down the hollow tube path.
Also they are the same length as the 74  & later axles.
To the best of my knowlegde the swingarm fitment is all the same between the Zeds

Okay shortshifter I should be fine with the photo Geoff put up, I just wondered if they looked like a standard one or not which they do. Thanks a lot though mate!

Good to know they fit in right away geoff ill have a talk to dad about the swingarm and everything and let you know.

I still wouldn't mind a second hand original one if anyone would sell it, I guess we can't all have what we want though can we.. Ill keep on the look out anyway.
