LOL....yeah i just noticed that too,but i think its to keep the cable away from the tyre.

Very nice resto Kev lotta love gone into it clearly. Just for the record I bought some new tapered steering  bearings from Pyramid for my MX Yamaha and guess what, they didn't fit either. What a pain in the arse!
