D.I.Y airfilter
« on: July 25, 2011, 02:52:13 pm »
Hit a minor snag today trying to get a replacement airfilter, but have found the correct foam to be able to make one. Question is, what the hell do I use to bond it together at the seams???? Whatever it is, has to be fuel and oil resistant....anyone done this successfully?

Never had a problem with Selley's brown/green contact adhesive. Their " new and improved" white stuff is useless, though.

Never had any joy gluing filters back together after they've been oiled - just can't get them clean enough.

Thanks for the collective replies - have found a Kawasaki filter that should do the trick, if not I'll be making one pronto!

Had to make one for my bike, tried liquid nails etc. Ended up using clear silastic . Gave it a good bead and pressed together. Still seems to be holding up well  ;)
