i had one of these dogs came up to my front door a couple of weeks ago.lovely dog very well looked after,my eldest daughter went and tracked down the owners who after an hour or so still didn't know their dog had got out until my daughter showed up at their front door with it.should have kept it but it saw my birds fly across the loungeroom and it wanted to eat them .cheers gary
Husky are escape artists. A sign of their intelligence no doubt.
And they love birds - love catching and eating that is. Bella would average 1-2 Minahs a week, and the occasional dove. She just chases and leaps at them. She has lots of misses but it keeps her entertained and fit
.
If you are ever tempted to get one, or are talked into it by your daughter
be aware they're escape artists, have no road sense, are very active and require
daily walks etc., and they molt hair like you wouldn't want to believe. And they are very social
- they demand attention and company. A great feature if that is what you want but if you want to leave the dog in the backyard and pat it once a week the Husky ain't for you. Left on their own they stress and get mischievous - dig, escape or even self harm (chewing and scratching themselves unnecessarily).
