Oh hell, sorry guys,
I'm a bit slack at this response business, I must get more involved. Anyway, we didn't have any rules in place, the only criteria was that the bikes be pre '85 - however we allowed a few pre'90 too.
Look, I don't intend 'making a rod for my own back' as I did with VMX, I just want to see the old enduro iron not getting cut up into VMX machinery anymore! Purpose built enduro motorcycles are a user friendly way to spend time in the sadle. When I was getting my M-word 400 GS rebuilt at Stackers, Paul wanted to know how hard I wanted it to run? He was a bit surprised I wanted it left stock. I'm just running it in and I can say it has plenty for me!
Back to the rules; if we (...and I mean you reading this - you're obviously interested) want to reward originality we could set up classes for stockers, ones for converted MX'ers, and the usual dates if you wish. However, they should be a rough guide only as I am just so stoked to see the wide range of old clunkers come out of the woodwork. These events are designed to maximise everyones fun - if you want to race your mates, great; trickle around, OK, do a lap and talk, fine, swap bikes, do it!
(...now, I WILL check this site tomorrow!)
Drakie.
