Desperate for head gasket
« on: August 10, 2010, 02:33:02 pm »
I need a head-gasket (one that doesn't blow out within 5 minutes of use in a supposedly re-built engine) URGENTLY for a 1982 Honda CR480.  If any-one can help with a source, greatly appreciated.

I had a mate with an IT465, we couldn't keep head gaskets in it. The only way to get around the problem was to put 2 base gaskets in it to try to reduce the compretion ratio, it seemed to work.

I reckon the problem could be distorted head surface/barrel surface. i know someone with a PE400 that had to get his studs removed and then have the 2 surfaces machined parallel. Also i would also recommend coating the gasket in this which is good for head gaskets.

you can also get it in a spray can
